During the USS Ronald Reagan’s (CVN-76) Pre- Commissioning and scheduled Planned Incremental Availability (PIA), period during which the Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS) Combat Systems upgrades, were completed working side by side SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific technicians upgrading and refreshing  the (ISNS) Record Program-Of-Record installation of COMPOSE v3.0.0.

·   Efforts focused primarily on streamlining configuration management procedures for command AIS equipment totaling over $900K. Interfaced with SPAWAR technicians daily to coordinate network system upgrades. Results: Interrogated 6 additional network switches, 1100 new LAN drops and 850 work stations during IT21 NIPER expansion in support of embarked staffs, squadrons, and ship's force.

·   Extensive Group networking experience, in replacing 35 ATM NICs with GIG-E NICs in PC workstations including knowledge of Windows Active Directory, COMPOSE 3.0, MS Exchange, ISNS NIPR/SIPR, and completed the installation of GOTS Delta.

·   Upgraded the ISNS Classified LAN with a GIG-E backbone, with SPAWAR direction, re-created the array design by installing three old 9GB hard drives in the upper array position, allowing the operating system to be stored on the upper array while the programs and data were kept on the lower 18GB arrays.

·   Upgraded the Classified LAN with six new 18GB hard drives on all servers, effectively doubling the classified storage.

·   Hardware upgrades, installed dual GigE NICs in all servers and varying connectivity.

·   Installed additional software and required security patches rollup supporting C3PO, NTCSS and IAVA.

·   Modifications to commercial off the shelf (COTS) as to end of life to support new interfaces to other systems such as NTCSS and Data Base Support applications supporting GOTS Delta upgrade.

·   Directed and documented two Program-Of-Record PC refreshes for over 5000+ workstations,                   ensuring all user data was migrated on the new desktop operating system images.

·   Worked side by side with SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific technicians verifying (PIA) and refreshes were completed, analyzing failure data, trouble reports, and system errors to identify current system deficiencies using Wireshark data captures and benchmark system data to compete SOVT system certification acceptance check lists.
